πŸ”— Everything you need to know about the World Boss

This_FAQ_comes_from_the_pageβ€œAge of WB”, check_it_out_for_more_details.

πŸ”— Is it mandatory to defeat each of the twelve World Bosses at least once?

No, the character can very well defeat the same World Boss twelve times, but in that case, the quest will take... twelve years!

πŸ”— During the same event, can we return the quest and redo the quest by validating the first step?

No, the validation can only be done the first time the character defeats the World Boss.

πŸ”— Is it mandatory to speak to the Astromancer to obtain the quest?

No, if the character does not have the quest, and provided that the character has at least one available quest slot, it will be given automatically as soon as they hit the World Boss.

πŸ”— How many times can the World Boss be defeated during each event?

A character can defeat the World Boss as many times as desired during the event. The more times the World Boss is defeated, the better the character will be able to claim rewards when opening chests.

πŸ”— No, it is not mandatory to open the chest immediately after the World Boss's death. The chest can be kept for later, but it will remain in your inventory until opened.

No, it is actually recommended to approach a trader and/or a vendor before opening the chest. The World Boss chests can contain up to eight vanity items or other objects that the character cannot stack. A vendor can be useful for clearing out inventory, and a trader allows sending non-stackable items to another character. Be cautious, as for this case, the character you send the item to must pick it up for your character to retrieve the non-stackable item. Note that you have five minutes to retrieve any items that were placed in a bag at your feet. Lastly, chests can stack up to ten.

πŸ”— I was always told that the World Boss is available from the first Wednesday of the month, but that's not the case, why?

This rule is true, except for December! Historically, the first World Boss entered the world of Conan in December. More specifically, it is a Christmas event. For the month of December, Funcom has kept this exception.

πŸ”— Why does the World Boss appear before Christmas in December, instead of on the first Wednesday of the month like the others?

December is marked by Christmas, which makes for an easy and recurring activity during this festive period. For all other months, there is a risk that the World Boss event overlaps with the PvP event, which starts every third Thursday of the month. The goal is therefore to offer both a Christmas event, as well as events spread throughout each other month.

πŸ”— What do the World Boss chests contain?

First of all, it should be known that there are two types of chests: "rare" chests and "epic" chests, the latter increasing the chances of obtaining a fabulous item! A rare chest can contain an epic chest, but not the other way around! Aside from that, by opening a chest, the character can expect to obtain:

  • A piece of equipment of level T1, T2, T3. The character can thus be fully equipped with T1 or T2, however, for T3, the World Boss will only drop necklaces, rings, and weapons.
  • Non-offensive companions.
  • Various tokens, such as esteem tokens, marks of acclaim, simple relics III, or rare relics.
  • Mastery/expertise points.
  • Life, endurance, or mana potions/food, various elixirs and potions.
  • A piece of appearance equipment or the complete set.
  • As well as potions whose usefulness is debatable :).

πŸ”— Do I have to do the World Boss with all my characters?

There is no obligation, but it is still preferable; who knows, in a few months you might be playing another character that you had neglected, and, if you don’t already have a legendary cape, it will already be well advanced in the quest ;).

πŸ”— Can you level up your character by doing the World Boss?

Yes and no :D. Defeating a World Boss gives very little or no experience to your character. However, completing the quest grants around three million experience points! So make sure to block experience gain before turning in the quest with a low-level character you don't want to level up.

πŸ”— This month, the World Boss takes place in an area requiring the purchase of a DLC, can I still do it?

No, unless you acquire the said DLC. Feel free to check out our page dedicated to cheap DLCs.

πŸ”— My character does not have the required level to go to the World Boss area, can I still do it?

Of course, but unless you are accompanied, you will need to at least know the hostile lands to avoid dying repeatedly while trying to get there.

πŸ”— Some players make a vendor appear, can I use it?

Absolutely! However, note that this vendor only remains for five minutes. After this time, they will disappear. If, during their disappearance, you were busy selling items, without knowing it, your character will be bugged! Indeed, you won't be able to open any vendor or negotiant window because, although the vendor's window will have disappeared with the vendor, the system will consider the window as still open and prevent you from opening another one :/. The only solution is to log out and log back in.

πŸ”— Is the World Boss done solo, in a group, or in a raid?

It doesn't matter, but in a group or raid, the character will find it easier to heal, tank, or deal damage. Additionally, being in a group or raid allows members to switch instances more quickly without having to move to the resurrection point. One condition for this is that the group leader must go to the resurrection point and make the instance change. Once this is done, all group members will receive a warning message in red, informing them that the group leader is no longer in the same instance and asking if they want to join. Be careful, if you want to use this message to switch instances, it's best to do it quickly to avoid the instance being full and causing you to be stuck in an infinite loading screen.

πŸ”— How to delete the quest?

It is not possible to delete the quest.

πŸ”— I am told that the World Boss is on a specific instance, how can I get there?

To change instances, you need to get within twenty meters of a resurrection point, then use the select instance window, which button is located near the mini-map. Where it gets complicated is that depending on your interface, the button to open this window will not be the same:

  • For the "default" interface, the button is represented by a black-and-white diamond.
  • For the "Strange UI" interface, it is a double chevron pointing upwards.
  • For other interfaces, the button is likely around the mini-map ;).

πŸ”— I can’t see the quest objectives on my mini-map, how can I display them again?

When changing instances, it is not uncommon to click on the other option in the small menu near the mini-map, which is used to display quest objectives ;).

πŸ”— Following an instance change, the game is in infinite loading, why?

This means that the instance has filled up to 100% with players while you were loading. The only solution is to force the game to close using the famous "CTRL + ALT + DELETE" and relaunch it :/.

πŸ”— In the instance change window, I try to join the instance named "playfield," but it doesn't work, why?

The "playfield" instance corresponds to the "epic" instance. It is not possible to join this instance through the instance selection window. To join it, you must leave the area and then re-enter through a gate, while accepting the epic mode.

πŸ”—

πŸ”— I am fighting the World Boss and my friends are asking me to join them elsewhere for other adventures, but I can't use the teleportation, why?

As soon as the character starts fighting the World Boss, the system considers them "in combat", even if they travel to the other side of the map. This prevents the character from using teleportation. To use it, the character must die.

πŸ”— I am alone facing the World Boss, why?

Players naturally tend to go to areas where the World Boss is easiest to defeat. For example, because a resurrection point is nearby or because the access is simple. Therefore, it is important to check if there are other areas where the World Boss may appear.

πŸ”— I am fighting the World Boss and I notice that many characters seem to be AFK, why?

There are many reasons for that, perhaps:

  • It's the twentieth time they've done it with their character.
  • They are on their fourth account and still have eight left to do.
  • The dog needs to go out.
  • They went to do the dishes.
  • Their wife is pulling aggro on them.
  • They're writing a FAQ about the World Boss.

In short, there are plenty of possible reasons :).

πŸ”— My character is in unconquered mode, can I go fight the World Boss?

Yes, you can go there at the risk of getting killed.

πŸ”— I just logged in to do the World Boss and there are several instances available, how can I know which one to join?

The jokers are :

  • The 50/50: try your luck in the different available instances. Note that if tombstones are visible, the World Boss will not appear for at least fifteen minutes.
  • Ask a friend: in guild, on chat, on discord.
  • Public voting: watch the information shared on the different chats. For example, "Chosain WB 20% at scholars city rez pad (Gun Hai)".

πŸ”— I am told to join an instance, but I can't see it in the select instance window, why?

When an instance is full, it does not appear in the select instance window. You will need to wait and reopen the select instance window, as a player might crash or stop the game, leaving a spot in the instance.

πŸ”— I just changed instances and I'm stuck on the respad by other players, how can I get out of this hell?

By going into hide mode, the character will be able to move out of this picket line.

πŸ”— bugs when downloading the installer from the ageofconan.com site

This_FAQ_comes_from_the_pageβ€œAge of Installer”, check_it_out_for_more_details.

πŸ”— Why are some links inaccessible?

If we examine the faulty links, we notice that the issue comes directly from the URL! For example, let's take the link provided by ageofconan.com:r

http://https//aoc-us-update.live.ageofconan.com/download/AoC/EU/ageofconan-en.exe

We can see the presence of two Β« http:// Β» protocols, and an error in the second one, where the Β« : Β» is missing. To fix the link, simply remove Β« https// Β» to make it functional.

πŸ”— Bugs that may occur while riding mounts

This_FAQ_comes_from_the_pageβ€œAge of Mounts”, check_it_out_for_more_details.

πŸ”— The mount is invisible

This can happen after changing zones and can be fixed by dismounting/remounting your mount or by zooming in all the way and then zooming out.

πŸ”— The character is standing on the mount and it's not possible to dismount.

This bug occurs after a game crash. To dismount from your mount, you will need to:

  • Find deep water to jump into
  • Teleport
  • Die.

πŸ”— The mount trots instead of running

This bug seems to affect certain characters and not others. Simply turning the mount sharply during its trot will cause it to start running normally.

πŸ”— bugs that can occur with teleports

This_FAQ_comes_from_the_pageβ€œAge of TP”, check_it_out_for_more_details.

πŸ”— Unable to use teleports available via exploit points.

Check that you have at least 1,000 achievement points and that the Battle for Tortage quest has been completed.

πŸ”— Unable to use a card to the nearest cart driver.

The character must have his weapons put away and not be on his mount. If, despite this, the character refuses to use the card, then it is possible that he is in one of the rare areas in which this functionality is unavailable.

πŸ”— The store rewards do not offer me the fifteen teleportation tokens.

This means that your account is not subscribed or the subscription is not yet activated.

πŸ”— I cannot find the path of Asura, the path of Ahriman or the path of the Comrades.

Although they are paths, they are considered abilities.

πŸ”— The map to the nearest cart driver does not work in Khopshef Province.

The province of Khopshef does have its chariot driver, but he does not have the same role as everywhere else, in fact, he offers free access to the Purple Lotus Swamp. In addition, this area does not have a map seller.
